Call to Entry Frequently Asked Questions
Valley Art Center's calls to entry are always digital. We simply cannot host an in-person jury process in our facility due to the logistical needs of our robust educational programming. Valley Art Center utilizes the ArtCall.org online call to entry system for our open calls to entry. To enter online artists must have digital images of their work that fall within the following technical specifications.
--Image minimum length on longest side: 960px | Image maximum length on longest side: 4600px
--Max file size images: 4 mb. | Allowed File types: jpg
Entries are typically allowed one (1) image per submitted work. We recommend 3D artists submit a photomosaic image with multiple views of their piece, as in the image below.

Opportunities for exhibiting your art
Margaret "Peg" Bowen Gallery
Valley Art Center presents five exhibits annually in a professional, 1,000-square-foot gallery. Typically, at least two of these exhibits are open competitions for submissions from artists. The only nonprofit art gallery in the Village of Chagrin Falls, VAC has been presenting the original art of novice, emerging, and professional artists for 45 years. VAC's gallery call-to-entries are open to regional, national and international artists. The Annual Juried Art Exhibit CTE is open to artists living in a 250-mile radius of the Center. The Annual Student/Faculty Art Exhibit is noncompetitive and open to all students and instructors active at VAC within the previous two years. The Margaret "Peg" Bowen Gallery welcomes thousands of guests every year and is an excellent opportunity to share your work with an appreciative public.
Art by the Falls
Every June, the highly attended Art by the Falls outdoor show introduces the work of national artists and fine crafters to the suburbs of Cleveland. Founded over thirty years ago, the event draws 10,000 patrons every summer to Riverside Park in historic Chagrin Falls. The show features approximately 100 painters, potters, jewelers, wood workers, fiber artists and other fine craftspeople. An ideal setting for an outdoor festival, the village's popular Main Street overlooks two waterfalls and hosts a wealth of fine shops, galleries and restaurants.
Other Opportunities
Members of Valley Art Center are invited to submit work for consideration to display and sell in the Gift Shop. Our Gift Shop artists are local and are active members at VAC.
Hallway Gallery
This smaller exhibit space is programmed by VAC staff and the Gallery Committee. We welcome suggestions and proposals for the Hallway Gallery but we generally reserve the space for opportunities identified by the Executive Director and Gallery Manager for pop-up exhibits that cannot be accommodated through our regular gallery programming.
