How does Valley Art Center find amazing artists?
Valley Art Center has built a reputation of being a strong supporter of artists. We provide a positive artist focused experience throughout the festival such as volunteer assistance, breakfast, and after hours dinner event. With focused marketing and a boutique art buyer experience, Art by the Falls draws over 15,000 attendees and art buyers who support artists through their purchases. This reputation means we receive more than 275 applications annually. A jury of three arts professionals spend a week reviewing and ranking all of the submissions. The Valley Art Center team then uses these scores to invite artists while balancing mediums to provide an engaging experience for festival attendees.

Can I help?
YES! Art by the Falls happens because of our amazing volunteer community. As a non-profit art center, Art by the Falls helps Valley Art Center fulfill its mission of engaging the community through art. We offer opportunities for individuals, families, teams and youth. We are happy to sign community service forms for schools and scouts. Volunteer opportunities are posted here. If you have a group of 5 or more and wish to volunteer together, please email us at events@valleyartcenter.org! |
What is community art?
Valley Art Center is committed to bringing engaging and educational art experiences to the community. One way we like to highlight the joy and expression of art is through an interactive art project, completed by attendees during Art by the Falls, and then shared with the community. In 2022, a community mural was designed by local digital artist, Pam Spremulli, and festival attendees had the opportunity to paint in the mural.
Continuing the theme of interactive public art at the festival that began in 2022 and the thread of environmental sustainability from VAC’s World Art Day public art display in April, the 2023 collaborative community art project will highlight the importance of environmental responsibility while creating a beautiful woven textile work of art from recycled plastic bags.
