Valley Art Center's Art Therapy Opportunities

The Valley Art Center now offers in person art therapy group and individual sessions to the Northeast Ohio area.

Art therapy is using art in a therapeutic way to support overall wellbeing and building an understanding of yourself. Art therapy is about the process of creating art, not creating a perfect masterpiece, which opens the door for ANYONE to be an artist. The benefits of art therapy include, but are not limited to, growth in emotional expression and understanding, social skills, self-awareness, and identity exploration.

A wide range of media is used in the VAC Art Therapy program: Painting, Drawing, Printmaking, Papermaking, Weaving, Sculpture, and more.

For more information, please visit valleyartcenter.org, call the office at 440-247-7507. Financial assistance may be available to those who qualify.

About our Art Therapist
Stephanie Heck

Stephanie Heck is a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist and Art Therapist with 20 years experience in the field. She recently opened her own therapy practice in Chagrin Falls and is excited to be a part of the creative therapeutic community! Before becoming a therapist, Stephanie had a career in musical theater that took her from Alaska, to Manhattan to Los Angeles, where she met her husband! She loves to combine her two passions- the creative process and the therapeutic process- to help people make positive change and bring about new insights to improve their lives. Outside of her work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, two teenagers and her dogs and cats, singing, studying functional medicine, and experimenting in the kitchen to make low carb healthy food!
