Valley Art Center's Art Therapy Opportunities
The Valley Art Center now offers in person art therapy group and individual sessions to the Northeast Ohio area.
Art therapy is using art in a therapeutic way to support overall wellbeing and building an understanding of yourself. Art therapy is about the process of creating art, not creating a perfect masterpiece, which opens the door for ANYONE to be an artist. The benefits of art therapy include, but are not limited to, growth in emotional expression and understanding, social skills, self-awareness, and identity exploration. A wide range of media is used in the VAC Art Therapy program: Painting, Drawing, Printmaking, Papermaking, Weaving, Sculpture, and more. Our art therapist, Yesamine De León-Mettee, MA, AT, LPC, has a Master of Counseling and Art Therapy from Ursuline College and is a licensed professional counselor. She will lead all group and individual sessions at this time. For more information, please visit valleyartcenter.org, call the office at 440-247-7507, or contact Yesamine De León-Mettee, MA, AT, LPC directly at arttherapy@valleyartcenter.org. Financial assistance may be available to those who qualify. |
