Valley Art Center is spring cleaning before beginning large-scale renovations of our building this summer. To make way for construction, items stockpiled over the last 37 years must be sold. Stop by our tag sale of furniture, equipment and supplies on Saturday, May 17 from 10:00am to 2:00pm.

Join Valley Art Center at Design a Life

Join us May 16 at the Design a Life Conference at Cleveland State University. Valley Art Center will have a table all day Friday and VAC instructor Mary Senechal will be presenting a breakout workshop on creativity in the afternoon. Art by the Falls

The twenty-fifth annual Art by the Falls outdoor art festival is coming soon to Chagrin Falls. Make plans to visit one of the area's premier art shows.

Art of Renovation

This May begins Phase I of the Art of Renovation. The east side of the building will be completely renovated to enlarge the main gallery and add two new classrooms.

Recent Events

Art History Presentation by Genny Boccardo Dubey

On Thursday, April 24, 2008 at 6:30 p.m, Genny led an interesting and entertaining presentation on Gothic architecture complete with a digital slide show and a model of Notre-Dame de Chartres cathedral. Over a dozen people attended the first of what we hope will be a new lecture series. Please give us a call if you'd like to propose a lecture or suggest a speaker.

Dale Slavin

Dale Slavin presented a one-person retrospective show of his sculpture, paintings, and illustrations from April 18 to May 9, 2008. The exhibition included works from over two decades plus a substantial body of new work created over the last year.

Motown/R&B band Hot Property performed at the opening reception on Friday, April 18.

Focus 2008

Enter the annual Focus competition and exhibition and be a part of an exciting collaboration between half a dozen local communities. This was the third year for the popular competition that brings together amateur photographers for one of the area's largest group photography exhibitions. Held in cooperation with Solon Center for the Arts, Fairmount Center for the Performing Arts, and Red Brick Center for the Arts.

Children's Holiday Workshop

On December 1, 2007, over 75 children made gifts for family at a dozen different stations of art projects.
